Fauverie Zoo
Leading breeding centre for endangered cats in Europe

The center of the Fauverie located in Toulon at the top of Mount Faron is a center of protection of carnivores and specializes in felines whose main mission is the conservation of endangered species. Throughout this park, you can discover various felines such as tigers, lynx, panthers, jaguars, pumas and marsh cats, but also wolves, hyenas, raccoons, baboons, lemurs, Madagascar, chickens and goats.

If you intend to visit the Préfecture of the Var during your stay in a mobile home, tent, caravan or camper at your campsite South East Vacances, take the time to cross the doors of the Zoo du Mont Faron. This is a must visit, especially for nature lovers and children. They will be able to freely approach the animals installed in secure spaces and you will be able to photograph them alongside a lion, a tiger or a puma.

On site you will find picnic tables where you can eat with your family before continuing your visit, two restaurants (a third at the exit) and a shop.

The forest is located on Mount Faron, north of Toulon, 550 m above sea level. If you come from Nice or Hyères by the A570 or from the plain of the Moors by the A57, take the exit number 3 "The Tombadou / Valletta Center". At the roundabout, take the 4th exit and follow the sign "Le Faron / Memorial". You can park at the park car park or a little further down in the car park of the cable car. You can take the cable car to the forest and admire the panoramic view of the harbor of Toulon and the Mediterranean. Once up, allow about 15 minutes walk to the park entrance.

The bush is also served by bus from the bus station: take line 3, get off at the Dardanelles stop, take line 40 towards Super Toulon and get off at the Téléphérique stop. For the more athletic, it is also possible to walk to the park. You can pick up the hiking plan at the tourist office.
