The city of Carqueiranne

Var seaside resort and small Provencal port in the Gulf of Giens Carqueiranne nestled between Mount Bird and Hill Colle Noire, midway between Hyeres and Pradet.

Its mild climate favored the development of horticulture in its territory. The giant tulip Carqueiranne is also a unique specimen which benefited from the local microclimate.

Several spaces are there to be discovered, with contrasting atmospheres: pine forest, botanical garden, olive grove, cacti space, children's play areas, or animated auditorium outdoor shows. More intimate, the gardens of Carqueiranne also offer privileged executives to relax. The Garden Claire Béziaud offers a lovely view of the harbor. The garden Frédéric Mistral is located north of St. Vincent Park. It includes a beautiful fountain and an outdoor theater.

charming seaside resort Carqueiranne has two large beaches monitored and several small intimate beaches. The Pradon beach is an ideal sandy beach for swimming as for relaxation. In a cove, it is sheltered from the wind. Beach Peno is the largest of the resort. It is lined with a walk, a beach restaurant and a sailing school. Other small charming beaches are to be discovered in Carqueiranne: the range of Bent Pins from the road; Beach Beau Rivage very rocky; the range of Bau Reds, naturist, lined with flat rocks; and the beach of Coupereau ideal for exploration of the seabed.

The city of Carqueiranne is finally a remarkable rich historical heritage to discover during a day of sightseeing, or lounging on a longer stay. At the forefront of this heritage, military forts were built in Carqueiranne between the late 18th and late 19th century. All the fortifications of Carqueiranne was part of the defense line of the harbor of Toulon. It includes the height of the Colle Noire, The Bayarde battery, battery The Gavaresse, and the battery of the Cape of Carqueiranne. The height of the Bayarde date of 1890. It is now the site of an annual theater festival and offers a unique view of the peninsula of Giens and Toulon harbor. Of site tours are also organized.

Among other monuments and sights of Carqueiranne included the unusual Richet Castle neo-medieval architecture, the wreck of the barque of Louis "Moon" off the port, the kiosk typical music of the thirties, Richet the monument honoring the first launch of an airplane by Victor Tatin and Charles Richet on tip Peno, or the remains of the coastal railway with, including outdoor exhibition of a steam locomotive.
